Bola Tinubu is expected in Nairobi within the next few days as part of a broader two-week diplomatic mission that will also take him to France and Rwanda.
The planned visit comes amid growing online attention after recent social media exchanges between Tinubu and William Ruto triggered widespread reactions and debate across the continent.
In a statement issued by the Nigerian Presidency through spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu is scheduled to leave Abuja today, making his first stop in France before travelling to Kenya.
While in Nairobi, the Nigerian leader is expected to take part in the Africa-France Summit, which is set to begin on May 11. The high-level meeting will be jointly chaired by Emmanuel Macron and President Ruto.
The gathering is expected to bring together African heads of state and senior French officials to deliberate on major issues affecting the continent, including clean energy transition, green manufacturing, digital innovation, and reforms to the global financial system.
