Democratic Congress Party (DCP) leadership has criticised Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro following his unveiling of a new political outfit in the Mt Kenya region.
Speaking during a DCP meeting held on Monday, August 18, Nyandarua Senator John #Methu accused Nyoro of being used by the State to divide the region ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Methu claimed that the DCP leadership had already been alerted to an alleged plan by the government to sponsor politicians from Mt Kenya to establish small political parties aimed at weakening the region’s voting bloc and political influence.
He further alleged that Nyoro’s newly unveiled party would be followed by three other State-sponsored political outfits, including one expected to emerge from Nakuru.
According to Methu, the parties would eventually be brought together under a new coalition and rally behind a different presidential candidate in an attempt to challenge the popularity of DCP in the region.
“Nothing is new to us. We knew all these dirty games long ago. Yesterday, we saw a wheelbarrow party being unveiled. Soon there will be another from Nakuru. Later, these parties will be asked to form a coalition and vie for the presidency,” Methu claimed.
Methu was addressing a DCP gathering attended by party leader Rigathi Gachagua.
Gachagua did not directly address the allegations surrounding Nyoro’s new political outfit during the meeting.
Nyoro recently unveiled the People’s Party of Kenya (PPK), which he said would be part of his political strategy ahead of the 2027 General Election.
