Gor Mahia Begin Title Defence Against Murang’a Seal as FKF Premier League Returns
The 2026/27 FKF Premier League season gets underway this weekend, with defending champions Gor Mahia beginning their title defence against Murang’a Seal in one of the standout fixtures of the opening round.
Gor Mahia will welcome Murang’a Seal to Kasarani International Stadium on Saturday, August 29, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00 PM EAT. The match gives K’Ogalo an immediate opportunity to set the pace in their bid for another league crown.
Gor Mahia go into the new campaign as the reigning Kenyan champions and will be expected to handle the pressure that comes with being the team to beat. Their opening assignment, however, should not be taken lightly. Murang’a Seal have previously shown that they can compete against established top-flight opponents.
The two sides also met during the previous league campaign, with Gor Mahia recording a 3-1 victory over Murang’a Seal on May 17, 2026.
