Raymond Omollo has broken his silence over allegations linking him to the sponsorship of goons, firmly dismissing the claims while condemning the growing trend of political violence in the country.

In a statement issued in Lodwar Turkana County on Friday, Omollo described criminal gangs and political goonism as a serious national challenge that must be decisively addressed. He warned that the government will not tolerate any individuals or leaders who engage in or facilitate such acts.

“Criminal gangs and political goonism are a national challenge and will not be tolerated. Any individual or leader who engages in or facilitates such acts will be held accountable in accordance with the law,” he said.

The Principal Secretary further expressed concern over the rising use of violence in political engagements, noting that it is increasingly undermining the country’s democratic foundations. He emphasized that such actions threaten meaningful dialogue and peaceful coexistence among citizens.

Omollo revealed that the government has already begun implementing firm and deliberate measures aimed at curbing political violence and restoring order across the country. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to safeguarding the rule of law and ensuring accountability for those involved in criminal activities.

At the same time, he called on political leaders to abandon divisive rhetoric and confrontational approaches, urging them instead to promote responsible and peaceful engagement.

The PS also cautioned against the mobilisation of young people to participate in violent acts, stressing the need to redirect their energy towards constructive opportunities that secure their future and contribute to national stability.
