Political analyst Odoyo Owidi has sensationally claimed that the majority of Western Kenya politicians left ODM before the death of Raila Odinga.

Speaking on a TV show, Owidi recounted an event in Kakamega where Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna reportedly told the late Raila Odinga to his face that if ODM were to cooperate with UDA, he should be counted out.

Owidi went on to name other ODM-elected leaders, including Caleb Amisi and Godfrey Osotsi, as having expressed similar positions on the matter.

“People just don’t want to accept it, but the reality is that the majority of ODM members from Western Kenya are not in favor of this broad-based arrangement,” he stated.

He further explained why he believes Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives Wycliffe Oparanya left ODM long ago, suggesting that what keeps him aligned with the party is the position offered to him by the president under the broad-based arrangement.

Odoyo Owidi is a Kenyan politician, political analyst, and former Chair of the Lake Basin Development Authority, known for his vocal stance in Nyanza politics and as a critic of the late Raila Odinga.

Previously associated with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), he has held various public and business roles, and frequently appears in the media as a commentator on Kenyan political affairs.
