Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has called for the immediate resignation of the acting Chief Executive Officer of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Moses Ledama Sunkuli, over concerns about the integrity of the voter registration system.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, April 22, Muturi raised alarm over what he termed as serious irregularities in the voter register. He cited a personal case involving his driver, whose voter details were allegedly altered without consent.

According to Muturi, the driver – identified as Bernard Munene wa Gatama—was initially registered as a voter at Kavengero Polling Station in 2012. However, his registration was later transferred to a different polling station under unclear circumstances, prompting questions about the credibility and security of the electoral database.

Muturi argued that such discrepancies undermine public confidence in the electoral process and called for urgent accountability at the highest level of the commission.

“IEBC acting CEO Moses Ledama Sunkuli must resign immediately over serious concerns on the integrity of the voter registration process,” he said.

The IEBC has yet to issue an official response to the allegations.
