Lang’ata MP Jalang’o has asked Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC to compensate the Niko Kadi movement founder for civic education.
Speaking through his social media platforms on Saturday March 27, Jalang’o explained that Allans Ademba had covered all that the IEBC was to do from now to mid next year.
He argued that the electoral body spends a lot of money on civic education and, for that reason, Ademba ought to be paid for the drive he initiated and which has seen young men and women, for the first time, register for voters card ahead of next year’s general elections.
“IEBC should pay Allans Ademba, who created rhe “Niko Kadi” Campaign, since the Commission is set to spend millions on civic education asking people to register as voters, yet the Campaign has already accomplished that.”
Speaking on the misuse of the slogan by fellow political class, Jalang’o noted that it could be very difficult for the founder of NikoKadi to sue or stop them because he hasn’t patented it and also because the slogan is two-worded just like many other street lingua making it hard for anyone to claim full ownership.
The first-time MP stated that politicians will jump on to the train with or without Ademba’s approval because, for them, every vote counts.
