Kisii County senator Richard Onyonka has broken his silence following the attempted attack on his life in a hotel in Nyanza.

Speaking to a group of journalists and friends on his way to their rally today Sunday 26, the outspoken lawmaker noted that the attack is part of the wider scheme by some powerful individuals to try and intimidate the opposition into submission.

He, however, remarked that attacking him or any other dissenting opinion will not change his perception on government.

“Using dirty politics to intimidate or harm anyone of us won’t help anything. Allow me to express both my opinion and stand peacefully. I will also allow yours as well. That is the only way we can change this country,” he remarked.

He further explained that Kenya’s democracy should be respected so that to allow different opinions to thrive.

“After all , wananchi will have time to make a final choice,” he added.

The senator said those using force to win an argument are outright losers who seem to have no more remaining option but to harm the peaceful opposition.

Senator #Onyonka narrated his healthy relationship with the Luos saying he schooled and stayed in Kisumu for many years and it remains his second home.

Onyonka assured his supporters that he will be present in every Opposition rally and meeting held in the region.
