Prominent city lawyer Donald Kipkorir has revealed that a woman identified as Catherine Jerono Tomno has filed a lawsuit against him following his public remarks about the ongoing multi-million-shilling payment controversy involving the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
The legal dispute comes after Kipkorir publicly mentioned Tomno’s name while questioning the handling of funds collected through the recently introduced instant traffic fine system. The lawyer has been vocal in demanding transparency over the destination of the payments made by motorists under the new enforcement framework.
Rather than expressing concern over the lawsuit, Kipkorir said he welcomes the legal action, arguing that the court process will provide an opportunity to establish the truth about the collection and allocation of the instant fines.
In a post shared on his social media accounts, he wrote:
“Catherine Jerono Tomno aka NTSA misadvised to sue me! Have told her lawyers to file suit. Looking forward to the suit so that we trace where the NTSA fines go to.”
The case is expected to draw significant public attention as questions continue to emerge over the management and accountability of revenue generated through the instant traffic fine system.
